BURNING BRIDGES

Poetry - By My Own Hand

[ To : The Other Women ] [ From : The Other Woman ] [ For : All The Bones Burned ]
Let the Liars
burn their bridges
over the white ash bones
they leave unburied

Burdened sleep
pardons the guilty
Beds instead
the unknowing

One,
cast into fire
The Other,
left aflame
Everyone is blameless

Tell me her name
Or
I will scream it,
just the same

Say it, serpent tongue
truth soother
Say it
I know it.
Speak it aloud.

Leave the Liars with their secrets

Say,
bon voyage-
scattered a Liar’s
insatiable mouth
out to sea

All the false kisses-
landing on lips
wishing up meanings
spun the same tellings

Leave the Liars to their rest

Let the Liars
tell their stories
over silent nothing.
Here lies:
No remains.

The bones, the bridges, Babe
I buried.

I love you, Babe
I buried.
